The Canyon des Oules in Freissinières is one of the most legendary canyons in France. People travel from far and wide to experience it! It has it all: big jumps, slides up to 14 meters long, iconic abseils, and swimming in fast-flowing water, all set in a magical mountain landscape.
Upper Section: A sequence of aquatic obstacles and beautiful abseils, with optional escape routes. Good physical fitness and basic abseiling skills are required.
Full Route: Reserved for the most experienced canyoners...
This canyon is ideal for those with prior canyoning experience and excellent physical condition. The upper section, which is more aquatic, is more accessible, while the full route demands a higher level of autonomy.

Difficulty
Athletic to expert. Very good physical condition required.
Age minimum
A pair of sport shoes (not sailing shoes), and a swimsuit.
Water and a snack for when you exit the canyon or for full day.
Opening hours and period
From August to October
About 3 hours for the upper section, 5 to 6 hours for the entire route.
45 minutes to walk up, 5 to 20 minutes back down.

Shoe rental
If you don't have sneakers that go in the water, or if you prefer shoes specific to the activity, I can rent you canyon shoes for €7 a pair.
