The Rouanette Canyon is a half-day or full-day adventure, perfect for experiencing a different kind of canyoning near Lake Serre-Ponçon. This route is designed for active individuals and families who want to enjoy an immersive mountain experience with slides, jumps, and rappels in a wild setting.
The adventure begins with a 30-minute hike through the alpine pastures. After gearing up, the first part of the canyon features a beautiful series of small slides, progression through a stunning gorge, and a few fun rappels. At midday, we take a sunny picnic break before tackling the second part.
The second part of the canyon includes a few jumps, two slightly higher rappels, and ends in a magnificent suspended pool where several jumps and slides can be repeated as desired. In the half-day option, we only explore this second section, which is more playful and dynamic.
The Rouanette Canyon is easily accessible from Chorges, Embrun, Savines-le-Lac, and Gap. It’s the ideal canyoning outing if you’re staying near Lake Serre-Ponçon or exploring the Champsaur, Valgaudemar, Écrins, Dévoluy massifs, or the La Mure area, in search of a complete and varied canyoning experience.

Meeting points are in front of the "Le Taillas" bar or directly at the canyon parking lot.
In all cases, to reach the canyon, you will need to drive along a dirt track. Please be careful with low-clearance vehicles.

Shoe rental
If you don't have sneakers that go in the water, or if you prefer shoes specific to the activity, I can rent you canyon shoes for €7 a pair.
